Last Run of Awe-Inspiring, Family-Friendly Circus Arts Act Arrives at Music Center on November 11

[North Bethesda, MD] - Prepare to be transported to a mystical realm where the very air we breathe comes alive in a one-of-a-kind theatrical performance, Air Play. Written and performed by Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, this enchanting show seamlessly weaves together elements of juggling, acrobatics, puppetry, and silent comedy, promising an extraordinary experience for audiences of all ages.

Bloom and Gelsone, acclaimed as master clowns, joined forces in 2015 with the visionary Daniel Wurtzel to create Air Play, a production that has since dazzled audiences worldwide with over 400 shows on five continents. Air Play made its first of several Strathmore appearances in 2016, and the show’s two performances on Saturday, November 11 at 2pm & 5pm will be its last in the Music Center, as the acrobatic duo are ready to retire Air Play and create a new world.

"We’re thrilled to come back to Strathmore for our third and final time," says Gelsone. "Strathmore helped launch us in our very first year–an early believer of our vision of visual poetry and laughter. And as we finish, it is a joy to come 'home' to one of the first places that embraced us, where we were encouraged to fledge our wings and make the world laugh."

Families attending the performance can expect a mesmerizing fusion of incredible beauty and contagious laughter. Featuring a 30-foot silk sheet, flying umbrellas, human-size balloons, a giant snow globe, and more, the show is thoughtfully designed to captivate children with comic antics and transport even the weariest adult back to the wide-eyed wonder of childhood.

"Seth and Christina created such an incredible gift with Air Play," says Joi Brown, Strathmore's artistic director and vice president of programming. "This final performance on our stage is bittersweet, but I'm thrilled we get a chance to say goodbye to the piece before it's gone forever."
