Hailed as “virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone” by The New York Times, Peter and Will Anderson, identical twins and Juilliard graduates, perform captivating classic jazz. Born and raised in Washington, DC, the Andersons have headlined at The Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, and Feinstein’s 54 Below. They have also performed live on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion and can be heard on the Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire with Vince Giordano’s Nighthawks.
In this performance, the Anderson Brothers explore the life and music of George Gershwin, blending live renditions of his classics with an engaging narrative. A genius of modern music, Gershwin composed for Tin Pan Alley, Broadway, film, radio, and symphony orchestras, combining the sounds of jazz and European classical music. Selections include favorites such as "Rhapsody in Blue," "I Got Rhythm," "It Ain’t Necessarily So," "Summertime," "They Can’t Take That Away From Me," "Embraceable You," and "S’Wonderful."
