Loston Harris presents the Great American Songbook at its finest. He is a piano virtuoso with suave vocal delivery, blending traditional jazz, gospel, and blues with his own unique stylings. For more than a decade, Harris has headlined the legendary Bemelmans Bar located in The Carlyle in Manhattan’s storied Upper East Side. He has a legacy of hosting great cabaret and jazz greats from the likes of Bobby Short, Eartha Kitt, Elaine Stritch, John Pizzarelli, and the Modern Jazz Quartet . Mentored by Ellis Marsalis, Harris is ingrained in a timeless culture of jazz and classic American musicianship.
For Harris, jazz is "hip, serious, complex, improvisational, and limitless." His latest release, Swingfully Yours, features swinging arrangements of timeless standards from the Great American Songbook. George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, and Sammy Cahn are all embraced on the release, and in his trio performance with Gianluca Renzi (bass) and Mike Lee (tenor saxophone).
