Grammy-nominated composer and conductor Miho Hazama is renowned for her innovative compositions and dynamic performances. Recognized as one of “25 for the Future” by Downbeat, she has released three albums with her signature jazz chamber orchestra, m_unit. Hazama's debut album, Journey to Journey, earned her the Jazz JAPAN Rising Star Award, and her third album, Dancer in Nowhere, was nominated for a Grammy. She has written for acclaimed artists like Joshua Redman, Lionel Loueke, Christian McBride, and Gil Goldstein, and her compositions have been performed by Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and Metropole Orkest, to name a few.

Miho Hazama will be joined for part of the concert by a small group of young musicians from Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras. Music includes jazz tunes Epistrophy by Thelonius Monk, Maiden Voyage Medley by Herbie Hancock, both arranged for strings by Miho herself, as well as one of her original works, Run.

We offer tickets under $30 for all Strathmore Presents programs in the Music Center. For this performance, these tickets are in the final 3 rows of the Orchestra Tier. They are first-come, first-served. We also have a limited number of complementary tickets available for this performance.
