Malevo

Under the visionary direction of Matías Jaime, this all-male dance company is reinventing the traditional Argentine malambo, a folk dance originated by gauchos as a competition of strength and agility. Adding elements of flamenco and live percussion, Jamie’s contemporary choreography amplifies malambo’s intensity with fast footwork and the use of boleadoras, leather and stone hunting tools. Malevo has toured globally, shared the stage with Cirque du Soleil, choreographed Ricky Martin’s Las Vegas show, and reached the semi-finals on America’s Got Talent.
