Legendary pianist Chucho Valdés leads a nine-piece orchestra in a tribute to the groundbreaking legacy of his award-winning Cuban band, Irakere. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Irakere revolutionized Latin jazz in the early 1970s by fusing Afro-Cuban ritual music, popular music, jazz, rock, and a splash of classical influences. This high-energy musical retrospective also pays homage to its founder, Valdés, a recipient of seven Grammys and six Latin Grammys.
