Since 2002, prolific French guitarist Stephane Wrembel has been releasing a steady stream of music, making his mark as one of the most original guitar voices in contemporary music. Born in Paris and raised in Fontainebleau, the birthplace of jazz guitar legend Django Reinhardt, Wrembel fell in love with Django’s style and immersed himself in Sinti culture—a Roma group from Western Europe—to master their distinctive traditional guitar playing. Django New Orleans, Wrembel's 17th album and the name of his New York City-based group, blends the timeless sounds of New Orleans, including swing and second lines, with the unique music of Sinti jazz guitar.
