In Western music, rhythm is felt in relation to beat counts and bar lines. Traditional Korean music presents rhythm as images and sound that can be visually cued and intuitively memorized. In this hands-on workshop, pianist Alfred Yun leads a demonstration of various Korean rhythms and explores how they differ from the Western rhythmic tradition.
