Music Center Policies

Patrons found in possession of these items will be asked to take them to their vehicles or dispose of them. 

• Weapons including but not limited to firearms, projectile weapons, ammunition, bladed, edged, or sharp tools, club-like items and striking devices, explosives or combustible chemical compounds and mixtures, and disabling chemicals such as mace or pepper spray 
• Weapons or items construed as weapons (including, but not limited to: firearms, knives exceeding 3.5 inches, sharp-edged objects, mace and pepper spray, tasers, props/toys) 
• Marijuana and other drugs without a prescription  
• Pets, including emotional support animals 
• All outside food and beverages including alcohol  
• Laser pointers (will be confiscated, patron subject to ejection) 
• Audio or video recording devices, GoPros, professional cameras or cameras with removable lenses and selfie sticks. Photography is prohibited at many performances. 
• Bullhorns or noisemakers 
• Balloons 
• Confetti, glitter, and other items that can be thrown 
• Large hats or accessories that may limit the view of other patrons 
• Commercial signage and unapproved pamphlets, handouts, advertisements 
• Scooters
• Patrons bringing skateboards, inline skates, hoverboards, or strollers will be asked to check them at coat check
• Remote control flying devices, drones, or UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) 
• Bags larger than 14" x 10" x 13" 
• Signs, banners, or posters of any kind
• Strollers and infant carriers

• We recommend arriving 45-60 minutes early so you have plenty of time to find parking, pick up your tickets, go through venue security, use the restroom, get a drink, and browse the show merchandise before getting seated.
• Lobby doors typically open 90 minutes prior to show time and house doors open 30 minutes prior to show time. Show times vary; please check your ticket or our Event Calendar to confirm the start time of the performance you’re seeing.
• Late seating is not guaranteed and is dependent on the production.

Masks are welcome but no longer required in our venues.

AIR QUALITY
Our HVAC systems completely turn over indoor air with fresh outside air every 15 minutes thanks to the installation of MERV 13 air filters in all of our venues. These high-efficiency air filters remove pollen, allergens, and airborne germs.

• Be courteous to everyone.
• Be respectful. Please abstain from foul language, fighting, throwing objects, and other behaviors detrimental to the safety of patrons or staff. Verbal and physical abuse will result in removal without a ticket refund.
• Follow directions from staff. Patron Safety is at the top of our list. Our staff members are your resource for information regarding venue operations, rules, and emergency procedures.
• Consume alcoholic beverages responsibly.
• Put your phone away in the Concert Hall. Please turn your cell phone off or set it to silent mode and avoid using it during the production. 
• Be responsible for your own positive experience. Please report disruptive or inappropriate behavior to an usher, security officer, or Strathmore staff member immediately.

What should I wear to Strathmore?

Strathmore does not have a dress code and we encourage you to be comfortable and be yourself. Dress up, dress down, or just come as you are.

What is the policy about smoking at Strathmore?

Strathmore’s venues are smoke-free facilities. As a county facility, smoking, including E-cigarettes, are not permitted on Strathmore’s campus.

When should I arrive?

What's the best way to get to Strathmore?

Strathmore is right on Metro's Red Line, so we highly suggest that option! Complimentary parking in the Metro garage is available during most performances. Read more about getting here and parking on our Directions & Parking page.

Can I bring my drink to my seat?

Drinks served in Strathmore reusable cups with lids are allowed inside the Concert Hall. Add a reusable cup to your drink purchase for $5 and bring it back for future visits to be refilled for the cost of the beverage. No food is allowed inside the Concert Hall.

Strathmore will not permit cups with lids from other venues. Plastic bottled water is permitted. Glass is not permitted in the Concert Hall. Coffee cups with lids are not permitted.
