We’re Giving Away Strathmore—Literally!

Strathmore invites residents of Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania to apply to win the use of Strathmore for one day for an artistic presentation.

The winner of this competition will get the use of any Strathmore facility (Mansion, Music Center or outdoor grounds) for a day, and their exhibition/performance/festival/event presented by Strathmore during the 2009–2010 Season.

Competition Guidelines

Who Can Enter

• Individuals who live in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
• Any club, group, collective or non-profit 501(c)3 organization headquartered in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
• For-profit organizations are not eligible. (Self-employed artists and performers are not considered for-profit organizations and are eligible).
• The winner’s artistic presentation must be open to the public. No fundraisers, private events, or other non-artistic presentations will be considered.
• Current Strathmore full-time staff members, board members, and members of their immedi­ate families are not eligible to enter.

Application Process

• The person/party submitting the application and the main artistic contact for the presenta­tion must be over 18. Participants in the final artistic presentation may be under age 18, but must have written parent/guardian permission to participate in the Great Strathmore Giveaway, if the presentation they are part of is chosen as the winner.
• All entrants must submit a completed application. The application is available to download online below, or by emailing giveaway@strathmore.org. Completed applications and any supporting materials must be delivered to Strathmore no later than MONDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2008 by 5 p.m.
• Late applications will not be accepted. A postmark by the deadline is not sufficient; the ma­terials must be at Strathmore by the deadline. Strathmore will not be responsible for lost or mis-directed applications delivered by any method including post, delivery service or email.
• Completed applications and supporting materials must be submitted in electronic format, delivered on a CD, DVD, USB Drive, or emailed to giveaway@strathmore.org (6MB limit on emails).
• A Selection Committee convened by Strathmore will choose the winner.
• The winner will be announced in April 2009, with the artistic presentation taking place on a mutually agreeable date in the Strathmore 2009–2010 Season.

The Winner Will Receive:

• The production/exhibition/event/festival of the winner will be produced and presented by Strathmore.
• The winner will sign a contract with Strathmore, and Strathmore will cover all agreed upon costs for the presentation, including rent of the Strathmore facility, production crew, front of house/ticket office services (if needed), and budget for the artistic presentation.
• Marketing and PR for the presentation, including coverage in Strathmore News, and program and press release acknowledgement of the winner.
