Singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Alice Gerrard has dedicated the past 6 decades to immersing herself in the world of traditional music. During the 1960s and 1970s, the award-winning guitar, fiddle, and banjo player collaborated with Appalachian singer Hazel Dickens. The duo influenced a generation of young female singers, including Emmylou Harris, Laurie Lewis, and The Judds.
